Kind of disgusting. Like a cheesy vampire novel. Actually made me want to throw up like the character in the book.
Fast-paced, accessible, terrifying, beautiful, human. All the trademarks of Max Andrew Dubinsky's work. Well done - pun not intended! Can't wait for the next story.
This is a quick read. It started well but degraded and the ending was predictable. If you don't like gore then avoid this novel.
That's what I kept thinking the whole time I was reading "Raw", shaking my head incredulously as I quickly flipped the pages of my . Mr. Dubinsky has a talent for the eerie which, although not usually my cup of tea, keeps me coming back for more.
Gripping, insane, graphic and unique. A fresh take on the zombie genre while throwing fad diets to the wolves. Awesome. And a little sickening.
I enjoyed reading the book but wish it had been a little longer. If you have a weak stomach thinking about gory things you may need a bucket. Definitely enjoyed reading it.
I first found Mr. Dubinsky on Twitter. His way with words captivated and inspired me deeply. I saw his graphic novel and read the first part and was completely blown away at the brilliance. An Anthology of Madness was released and I purchased it immediately. In one tear soaked sitting, I finished the whole thing. It was so honest and so raw. Which brings me to this short story RAW. It was brilliant. The way Max could make me hate this imaginary diet, then love it, then hate it again, blew my mind. Read everything this man writes.
